Emmegi Comet R4
The Comet R4 is a 5-axis CNC machining centre for bars or workpieces of aluminium, PVC, light alloys and steel up to 4m in length. The 4th and 5th axes allow the electrospindle to rotate continuously from −15° to 90° on the horizontal and from −360° to +360° on the vertical axis, to enable machining on 5 sides of the workpiece without it being repositioned. The machine has a 12-place tool storage magazine, which can be equipped with a milling disc.

The workpiece is positioned with a pneumatic reference plate on the left side of the machine, and held securely in place by 4 or 6 (optional) intelligent clamps which are positioned automatically by the X-axis slider. Adding a second optional reference plate on the right side allows the machine to perform extended machining on two profiles, operating in multipiece mode or on oversized bars.
